New Year’s Eve 2012 at Grace Lutheran was awesome! Our party started already at 5pm, at which point we were the only ones in town already rockin’ ‘n rolin’. It was the perfect timing for Red Lion’s families with children! As a result, the Spirit Cellar was packed at 6pm at the latest, and the kitchen crew had to go out of their way to keep the kettles filled.
The mad hat crafting table was this year’s favorite, followed by the bluegrass band playing in the Sanctuary as a close second. Below you can find a few shots taken by our roving reporter Jen.
Oh, and here is Jen’s take of the event:
We had the best turnout ever for the New Year’s Eve Party! We were busy the entire four hours, with the longest lines during the first hour, since we opened earlier than the rest of the New Year’s entertainment in Red Lion. An all-you-can-eat buffet offered pizza, crab soup, and hot dogs, among many other foods.
Craft tables lined three sides of the basement, and included such activities as hat decorating, box decorating, and sand art. Musical entertainment was provided by the praise band in the basement and a bluegrass band in the sanctuary.
This event serves as great outreach to the Red Lion community. No church funds are used. It is funded solely by fundraisers like noisy offering and the pretzel sandwich sales. Please support these sales throughout the year so we can continue this popular event!
