The Red Lion Felton Band will be featured as our July concert on July 20 at 3:00 p.m., this time with an Ice Cream Social included! As always, concerts are free and open to the public. Feel free to bring your children, grandchildren, neighbors, and friends.
The Red Lion Felton Bands have a long history in the local area. The Felton Band was established in 1892, with Mr. William G. Reichard as the first director. In the late 1920’s, a small German band was organized and became the forerunner to the Red Lion Concert Band, organized by Daniel P. Keener and Alvin M. Hildebrand. Hildebrand served as the band’s first director.
The Red Lion Concert Band and the Felton Band merged to become the Red Lion Felton Band in April 1972. Together, the Red Lion Felton Bands have been entertaining Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, and Delaware residents for over 118 years. The band’s current director is William Ritz.
Join us to see why locals have enjoyed these bands for over a century!
