As part of his duties as the new Assistant Music Director, Wicky will be directing the bell choir and serving as the secondary organist. He was born and raised in Dallastown. He began piano lessons in second grade and started organ studies in seventh. Wicky is currently completing his Bachelors degree in behavioral science at York College. He will attend Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg in the fall of 2014. Soon after beginning his organ studies, Wicky worked as a supply organist for many churches in the York area. From June 2009 until December 2011, he served as the organist and Choirmaster of Grace Lutheran, and held two similar positions in the area before returning to us for the Assistant Music Director position. In his spare time, Br. Barnes likes to spend time with friends and family. He enjoys music, the church, golf, and working on older European automobiles.
We have other music here at Grace, including the Spirit Cellar band and Children’s Choir. Praise Team Leader Amy Flemming organizes the band and music. The Children’s Choir is directed by Kurt Golden and Mindy Steinke.
