Jesus is pretty clear in scripture: we are called to feed the hungry. That’s why we at Grace feel called by the Holy Spirit to serve our community through the Grace Lutheran Food Pantry. This ministry runs through the generosity of the Central PA Food Bank, the York County Food Bank, and the gifts of our congregants and community.
We have four regular food distributions a year: March, June, September, and December. In addition to food items, those who sign up for one of the distributions are also invited to browse our “Yard Sale”, where we have lightly used items that are available, free of charge. There are clothes for adults and children, toys, household items, and much more.
In order to quality for food distributions through the donations of the state and county food banks, participants must live within the Red Lion School District and meet certain State Income Guidelines.

Our pantry relies on funding from the State Food Purchase Program, donations from local organizations and churches and from individual donors. In spite of a recent 20% reduction in county monies, we have still been able to reach out to our regular clients as well as accept new clients throughout the year.
Even though we only distribute at four scheduled dates, emergency food orders consisting of canned goods and dry goods are available by appointment. To reach the Grace Lutheran Food Pantry, please call: (717) 850-6300. Our Food Pantry is run entirely by volunteers, and so we ask that you please only call during regular daytime hours (9am-5pm). If you reach the voicemail, please speak clearly and slowly, leaving your name and phone number. We will return your call as soon as possible and appreciate your patience.
We started this out-reach ministry over 30 years ago, and through the years it has continued to grow into what you know now as the Grace Lutheran Food Pantry. It is our sincere hope that God will continue to bless us and our church as we strive to do His work—feeding the hungry!
