T.O.G.S News (AKA Youth group news)

TOGsThe Youth Group from here on out will be known as the T.O.G.S (Tributes of God). They chose the name after a popular concept from the book and movie, Hunger Games. What it means for them is that God has chosen each of us for service and to use all of our gifts to give glory to God.

They have chosen for their first service project to provide entertainment for Trick or Treaters at Halloween on the Street. They will be setting up activities on the lawn for children to walk through on their way to getting their hot dogs and snacks. There will be a planning meeting for this project on Sunday, October 6 at 1:30 p.m. Any youth or adults who are interested in helping them coordinate this event are asked to attend that meeting.

Other upcoming events for T.O.G.S.: We will be having lunch and going to Maze Quest, Sunday, October 20 immediately following late service. Friends are welcome! If we get 20+ people we will get a group rate, so as many youth that can attend are welcome.

We will be having a “Lock-In” from Saturday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. until Sunday, November 17 when the Contemporary Worship begins. Youth are invited to bring friends, games, movies, and whatever snacks they would like. We could use several adults to help with this event as well.

Our next meeting will be on Sunday, November 3, from 6-7:30 p.m. This date may change depending on Blessing of the Animals, so check out the November issue of The Beacon.
