Last year, the ELCA embarked on a new program called “God’s Work, Our Hands Sunday.” The goal of this program was to set aside a specific Sunday every year, where Lutherans all around the country get out into their communities and serve. This year, we hope to be a part of this wonderful program, so that we can be God’s hands in our little corner of the world. On Sunday, September 14, we will be gathering together after 10:45 a.m. worship to clean up Fairmount Park. The borough will be giving us a list of tasks they would like us to do, such as planting trees, and general beautification of the park in preparation for fall. Lunch will be provided, and we will close out the day with a small worship service. Please mark your calendars; it is going to be a wonderful day of service and fellowship.
